Are planks fun? No, not so much! Do we have to do them for a tight, toned core? OH YES, yes we do! Here is a quick five minute workout that will shred your core in no time. (Remember to always consult a doctor before starting any new exercises, take breaks when you need but ultimately push yourself just a little more each day.)
For all planks, remember to keep your tush down (mine tends to hike in the air so really focus on not doing this), abs contracted and breathe. Change happens when you get out of your comfort zone, so here we go!
Each exercise should be done for 30 seconds, taking very minimal breaks in between and a small break at the halfway point:
- Regular Plank
- Plank with Alternating Arm Raises
- Plank with Alternating Leg Raises
- Plank Press Ups
- Plank Hip-to-Hip
- Plank Jacks
- Side Plank, Right
- Side Plank, Left
- Thread the Needle, Right
- Thread the Needle, Left
