Kyle and I love a good date night… I mean who doesn’t? Am I right? Today I’m sharing all of our favorite spots in Charlotte for date night! Some new, (Charlotte is growing like CRAZY) and some have been around for awhile. I’m excited to share this list with you all. I hope you love them as much as we do!
Knights baseball game
Fun to get out and watch the ball game but the stadium has kicked it up a notch with great food, local beers and other fun drinks. Check their website for events like Bark Night or Run the Bases where you can bring your dog to a game or let your kids run the bases at the end of the game. They also put off amazing fireworks post game!
Merchant and trade
This is the spot for great drinks with an amazing view. Cute lounge areas too to cuddle up close to your main squeeze as you sip drinks like The Velvet Slipper or the perfect spot to grab drinks with the girls. They have great small plates as well- you won’t want to pass this spot up!
Fahrenheit
Amazing food with a spectacular view. Get your cameras ready because if you don’t post it, were you really there? My personal favorites are the spicy yellowtail nachos and scallops where Kyle is a huge fan of the rock shrimp and the bone in ribeye and the crab avocado toast- which is out of this world. Grab a cocktail and head out to the patio at sunset for an amazing view of the city.
5 church
My go to spot. Not only is the food darn right amazing (chef Jaime was even on top chef!) the drinks are delicious but what stands out to this restaurant is the atmosphere. Modern, trendy you feel like you walked into any hip restaurant in LA or NYC. Lots of black and white, an entire novel painted on the ceiling and chandeliers that will give you some serious light envy. Some stand out must try items are the the tomahawk for two, the salmon and wild mushroom flatbread. Be sure to save room for dessert because it’s worth every single calorie.
The Cellar
Total NYC vibes! This spot used to be a speak easy and is tucked away in a basement under Duckworths. You’ll feel like you just travelled back in time. The ambiance is truly like a little New York City spot. The food is delicious and the service is amazing. Ton’s of unique drinks and even a beer cellar. Be sure to ask them about the history and take a tour of the cellar!
O-ku
Our favorite sushi in Charlotte! Authentic Asian food with a southern flare. I love it so much, I even celebrated my birthday there this year! In the heart of South End and just a few steps from one of our other favorites (see below), it makes for the perfect date night.
Jeni’s Ice Cream
Best.ice.cream.ever! If you’ve never been, do yourself a favor and go! I believe there are now three locations in Charlotte.. say what! They have really unique flavors and are all homemade. My favorites are the Brambleberry Crisp and the Brown Butter Almond Brittle! They also have a wide variety of dairy free options. They make their waffle cones in shop so they are always warm and to die for.
Barcelona Wine Bar
A newer restaurant here in Charlotte but it’s quickly becoming popular! Great for date night and also a great spot to enjoy with friends! Tapa style dishes and a very large wine list, its the perfect spot to sit and get into deep conversation!
