Summer is here, the temps are rising and it’s time for you to look HOT, HOT, HOT! Play up all of your outfits with one statement piece to really stand out! The first and most obvious choice is a statement necklace. You can take a simple jeans and t-shirt outfit and really make it chic with the right necklace! Remember if you are wearing a large necklace, you don’t want your other jewelry to compete with it. Choose stud earrings or none at all and keep your arm wear minimal to a few bangles. I also really like to play up the colors in the necklace with a coordinating shoe if my top and bottoms are simple. To the left, you can see I had on a very simple black and white outfit and took the neon yellow from the necklace and coordinated my shoes with it. Spring and summer mean it’s time to play with color and our jeans and shorts are no exception! Bold colors and wild prints are so in right now and stop! I know what you are thinking: “I can’t wear something that 
loud!” but yes, you can! All you have to do is tone down the rest of the outfit and let the colors speak for themselves. The first look I have is a color block combo with cobalt blue and yellow. I played down the accessories with simple gold earrings and bracelets and wore nude shoes so nothing competed with the colors. Another option is to pick a patterned bottom and pull one of the less extreme colors from the pattern and wear that as your top. For example, with these scarf print shorts I just bought for $17 from Forever 21, I would choose the lighter colors, like the white or the mint, and wear a plain solid shirt in that color. I would again keep my accessories to one tone so that the print is the focal point. A great way to try this trend, if you don’t go for neon colors or anything like that, is to start with a black and white pattern. My favorite is also my plus size pick from Forever 21 for only $24.80! These jeans feature an all-over cream and black damask pattern which would look awesome paired with a black blazer!
