I am a huge fan of murder/mystery books and recently with the guidance of the MRO (Motor Racing Outreach) community; I have begun to read books with a religious undertone. I have read many great books by very talented authors over the years but I was looking for a compelling, page-turner, that also taught me lessons about God. When I came across the author Terri Blackstock, I knew I had found exactly what I was looking for! 
Terri Blackstock has written a number of books that are all broken into a 3-4 book series. One series, called the Restoration Series was so compelling I felt the need to share it with all of you. The premise of these stories take place in the current day and is centered around a well to-do family and neighborhood facing a host of unfamiliar problems that arose when all of the electricity and thereby technology in the world suddenly stops working. It may sound crazy, but the way the author starts the series with this bizarre phenomenon, how families and strangers suddenly have to unite and depend on each other, the land and most importantly God is written so immaculately that honestly one night I read 350 pages in one sitting! The series is riveting with murder, suspense, a love story and many other twists and turns that it’ll leave you reading well into the night.
What makes this book so unique is that it has a strong religious undertone that is so well woven into the story that you learn many new things about the Word of God without even realizing it. I find myself quoting or explaining how God works in mysterious ways based on things I have read in these books. It takes Scripture and incorporates it into real world problems and breaks it down in such a way that it is easy to understand so the readers understand the full meaning of the Message. These books quote the Bible and then explain its purpose in the situation of the story so effortlessly that it is clear God gave this author a true gift of writing.
I have never read books that were so moving on so many different levels. No matter where you are in your religious endeavors you will take something away from these books. I am so happy I have found this author Terri Blackstock and promise you these books will open your heart to God while at the same time fulfill your entertainment value in the thriller reading realm.
