We all know I love fashion and puppies, so what could be better than a fashion show with dogs?! On Wednesday, May 25, I attended an event presented by Vestique Boutique in Charlotte called Rescue to Runway that supports Halfway There Rescue. Models walked the runway featuring the latest summer trends alongside super cute furry friends that were ready to be adopted.
Halfway There Rescue is a Charlotte area pet rescue organization that saves dogs and cats from over-crowded rescues and helps find them happy homes. They take unwanted, abandoned and abused dogs, place them in temporary foster homes and ultimately find them permanent families to shower them with love. Many dogs when rescued won’t typically go near people, but the dogs at this event were strutting down the runway stopping for kisses and love from everyone! The house was packed for the event and of course the dogs stole the show and my heart!
Since it was a fashion show, let’s talk about my outfit for the night! I wore my favorite white bodysuit from Vestique. What I love about this top is that it’s double-lined with a thicker material, so it’s not see-through. Also, the back is a statement all on its own with the sexy straps. I paired the bodysuit with this awesome wrap-style skirt from Express (it’s on sale!) that’s made from soft suede material and features a high slit. I finished this look with a stunning turquoise necklace.
I was so happy to see that this touching event was such a success! Lots of money was raised and hopefully many people found it in their hearts to offer these dogs the forever home they deserve.
