I LOVE ice cream! Seriously, it’s the best. I haven’t met a flavor I don’t like! The very best flavor, which is very hard to find, is called the Fat Elvis. Each place does it a little different but the key ingredients are bananas, peanut butter and chocolate. Really…how amazing does that sound?? I’m drooling just typing the words. Let’s be honest though, anything with the word “fat” in the title is probably loaded with sugar, fat and empty calories which are not going to do anything beneficial for your waist line. I created the “Skinny Elvis” so that I could still have “ice cream” a lot but get some great health benefits from its ingredients too. It’s satisfying and nutritious!
Check out some of the health benefits of the ingredients included in my recipe:
–Soy Milk: Good for your bones and blood vessels
–Bananas: Known to be a great source potassium, fiber and vitamin B-6
–Chia Seeds: High in fiber, protein, antioxidants and Omega 3 fatty acids
–PB2: This is a powdered peanut butter which is not as nutritionally healthy for you as peanut butter or almond butter but I opt for it in my shakes because its lower in calories and I find that it blends better then actual peanut butter.
–CocoaVia: This gives you the health benefits of dark chocolate without the calories and fat! In dark chocolate, it is actually the cocoa flavanols that are beneficial to your body. This product harnesses all the skin, cognitive and circulatory benefits of flavanols in convenient, delicious packets which I use not only for my “Skinny Elvis” but now use for my hot chocolate too!
