When rinsing your hair after conditioning use cool water because it will close the cuticle which will help make your hair look more shiny, healthy and smooth.  It is also the reason that there is usually a cool shot button on most blow driers.

When washing dark jeans flip them inside out to prevent fading. When you wash your jeans they rub together and over time this abrasion breaks down the denim cotton fibers.  What this means is that your great dark was will fade so take the extra step and flip them inside out.

Need to look like a million bucks in a tight dress or hitting the beach in a teeny weeny bikini? Here is what you can do the days leading up to the event:

  • Drink tons of water and add lemon to it to help flush some of the sodium out of your system
  • Eat things like watermelon and oranges which have a really high water content
  • Avoid carbonated drinks
  • Avoid starchy foods like potatoes
  • Avoid canned foods because they generally have a really high sodium level

Do onions make your eyes water? Put them in the freezer for 10 to 15 minutes before you chop them.  Why? Because when you cut an onion is release an enzyme which reacts with the rest of the onion to create a gas. W hen this as mixes with water it turns to acid.  There is water in your eyes, so this turns to acid and makes you tear up.  By placing the onion in the freezer it helps to reduce the enzyme that causes the acid.

Spent the night crying while watching reruns of the Titanic and the notebook and this morning your eyes are really swollen? Rinse tea bags under cold water for 30 seconds, then pop them in the freezer for five minutes.  Lay down and place the cold tea bags over your eyes for 10 minutes.  The tannins in tea bags will reduce swelling and also the moisture of the tea bag will absorb into your eye are which will give you a less swollen more refreshed look.

Looking for an inexpensive facial exfoliatant? Mix a little baking soda in with your normal face wash to help buff off dead skin cells to reveal a radiant complexion.

Looking to cut time in your morning makeup routine? No need to skip a step just simply apply your makeup in the same order each morning to speed up the process. I read an article once that said it is easier for your brain to process patterns so if you apply your makeup in the same order each day it is less for your brain to process and you actually move faster through the task.  My pattern: prime eyes, apply eye makeup, curl eyelashes, put on face primer, apply mascara while primer is drying, light concealer under eyes and on blemishes, highlighter with bronzer and light color, powders and a little blush.
