I’m all about at home skin care for a number of reasons. First, we are gone all the time and our schedule is so crazy. Getting in for normal skincare at a spa or medspa never really happens. Next, I love all things skincare, but I feel like I know my skin and body better than anyone. With that being said, I like to be the one trying things on my own skin. I don’t like extremely aggressive peels or anything that leaves me with too much down time. Finally, overall, it’s a lot more cost effective to do at-home treatments. There are some amazing peels, serums, masks, etc out there, that when coupled with some great at home beauty devices can really work wonders for your skin! As many of you know, I regularly shave my face- about every three weeks. You can read the entire blog post here (the razors aren’t the ones for you legs. They are special face razors that you can get for about a dollar on Amazon)! I do this for a great exfoliation of dead skin and to remove the peach fuzz we all get (no, it does not make your hair grow in thicker) and seriously, your makeup goes on like a dream!

Anyways, another hot thing- I saw that everyone was rushing to the spa to get micro-needling. I had tried the derma rollers previously, but I didn’t see much of a difference. So, I talked with a friend who is an esthetician and asked what was up! She told me that first of all, she didn’t like the rollers because the needles penetrate the skin on an angle, which can do the wrong kind of damage. Secondly, most the of rollers didn’t have needles long enough to get as deep as needed to be effective.

For those of you who don’t know exactly what Micro-needling is, it is a treatment normally done in-office, that punctures the face with tiny little needles to stimulate collagen production and basically kick start the skin’s natural healing process. The purpose of treatment is to generate new collagen and skin tissue for smoother, firmer, more toned skin. Putting needles in your face alone sounds intimidating, much less doing it yourself. I’m here to show you how to safely microneedle your face at home and at a much better price point. Today, I am going to show you how I micro-needle my face at home with the ORA Electric Micro-needle derma pen system! Let me know if any of you decide to try micro-needling at home. I would love to know your thoughts.
